Le Marais, 1 day walking tour suggestions

le maraisLe Marais is one of my favourite districts of Paris. The fact is that in this area of the city, you are in the heart of Paris. Plus, you can see modern and traditional living together, side by side. I always recommend spending at least one day or part of the day in Le Marais, Arrondissement 4, as you can see from the How to Spend Your Time in Paris section.

Le Marais is the place where you can find a typical bakery or a café where to feel like a Parisian. It is an area full of attractions, art galleries and the apartments and hotels of its streets are some of the most centrals. What I also like about this area is that you can go shopping in the best boutiques and go eating in the most typical restaurants.

Le Marais in 1 day, what to see

As Le Marais is quite big, it is good to join a tour that allows you to explore it optimizing your time. This is good if you won’t be in Paris for a very long time. Anyway, even if you know this area very well, it is always fascinating visiting the good old things from a new perspective. And doing it with a qualified guide is the real plus.

This tour in Le Marais is about discovering its history. Plus, you will be leaded to Place des Vosges, one of its attractions, and in the Jewish Quarter. In addition, you will also visit two churches, the Saint Paul and Saint Louis ones. And, you will cross the cloister of the great Palace Hotel de Sully.

If you are still thinking to the bakery I mentioned before, go in Pletzl!

After your walk in Le Marais, you may want to go in some great museums of this area. You can go to the Hotel de Ville, another of the most important palaces of Paris. Or, you can go to the Carnavalet museum dedicated to Picasso. Another attraction that you can’t miss is the Pompidou Center. It is an architecture masterpiece and a place where you can see contemporary artworks.
