Accommodation for short rentals, rules
Would you like to rent your meublé de Tourisme in Paris? Would you like to put your furnished accommodation for short rent? Here is the info you need.
What is a meublé de tourisme
In Paris, a meublé de Tourisme is a furnished accommodation for tourists for short rentals. It is a kind of formula for temporary customers who do not usually live in Paris.
The meublé de Tourisme accommodations made in accordance with the law of July 6, 1989 (one-year or 9-month lease for students) are not subject to the regulations on furnished tourist accommodation.
They, therefore, do not require any prior administrative procedure with the City of Paris.
Short rental accommodations have developed in Paris, due to the increase in offers via the internet. In some Parisian districts, accommodation for short rentals represents up to 20% of the rental supply. Still, the prices are close to those of traditional hotels.
This phenomenon causes both a decrease in the traditional private rental supply and an increase in the cost of housing, both for rental and purchase.
To face this complex situation, the City of Paris has decided to preserve the dwellings intended for Parisians by standing with new rules of use.
If you wish to rent your whole main residence, you can do it within the limit of 120 days per year.
If your accommodation is your main residence, you can rent it as accommodation for short rentals within the limit of 120 days per year. But you must file a declaration of meublé de Tourisme online.
