04/09/2019 by Amber

Here is the events in Paris in 2020! Paris is the perfect scenario for many exhibitions, concerts, shows, sports competitions.

Before reporting an event on your agenda, check the list of events canceled or postponed due to Coronavirus in Paris.

Events in Paris in January 2020

On January 2020 Paris Events will be a lot! That is also because of the enthusiasm for the New Year! January 1, 2020, is the Jour de l’An, the New Year’s Day. It is a French National Holiday. So, you will admire Paris in its celebrations. If you love New Year’s celebrations as I do, you need to note down another date!

Another of the most important Paris Events in January 2020 is winter sales! Winter sales in Paris, also known as Soldes d’Hiver, start at the beginning of January, usually in the second week of the month. It is one of the best times of the year to buy both in boutique and department stores.

Fashion week in Paris in January 2020 is the place to be for fashion victims. On January 2020 there will be two Winter fashion weeks in Paris! The first is about men’s clothing, from January 14 to Sunday 19; the second one, from January 20 to January 23, is dedicated to Haute Couture.

If you do prefer the interior design, I suggest you going to Maison & Object. It is one of the greatest shows about home interiors in Paris. From January 17 to the 21st 2020, Paris Nord Villepinte will become the stage of both exhibitions and shows with special guests.

Paris Events in February 2020

If you are looking for what to do in Paris in February 2020, here some ideas.

February is a special month to spend in Paris because of Saint Valentine’s Day! Anyway, even if you might think that there might be too sweet for your taste, you can celebrate Valentine’s Day in Paris in an unconventional way. Just think that there will be a Valentine’s Day Run in Parc des Buttes Chaumont (arrondissement 19)! It will be on February 16.

February also is the month of Carnival! You can celebrate Carnival 2020 in Paris going to the traditional celebrations that will take place on February 23. The traditional parade will start at 2 pm. You will spot it along Belleville Street and at Place de la République.

Another event in Paris in February 2020 to go is the Retromobile Vintage Car Show. It is one of the most attended auto-show. There will be over 600 stands! The date to save is from February 5 to the 9th and the place to go is Porte de Versailles.

Paris Events in March 2020

If you are coming to Paris in the latest days of February or on March the 1st, you have the chance to join the Semi de Paris. It is the Paris Half-Marathon of March 2020 open to everyone! It is the event in Paris in March 2020 to go if you will put “become fitter” on your New Year’s things to achieve! Also, the half-marathon gives the chance to visit some of the most beautiful parks in Paris: Bois de Vincennes, the Parc Zoologique de Paris… The marathon will take place on March 1st.

If you would like to deepen the travel industry, there is the perfect event in Paris in March 2020 to go to. It is the Salon du Tourism, an event where you will find everything about the latest tourism trends. If you are curious enough to go, the Salon will take place at Porte de Versailles, from March 12 to March 15.

March 17th is dedicated to Saint-Patrick celebrations in Paris! If you want to celebrate like an Irish, I suggest going to the Quiet Man pub (arrondissement 2) or to the McBrides Irish Pub (arrondissement 1).

Booklovers and bookworms in Paris might have the perfect event too! In March 2020 there is the Bookfair in Paris, the biggest one of the nation! Writers, authors, and publishers will be at Porte de Versailles. From March 20 to March 23, you can be a part of this peculiar experience. It is for all ages, perfect if you are in Paris with kids. Ancient and modern books but comics too are what you can admire or buy at this huge book fair.

Paris Events in April 2020

Paris Events in April 2020 are all about art and Easter! But first, note down that French people celebrate April Fools Day too! Be very careful at their jokes on the occasion of the so-called Poisson d’Avril.

As the first actual Paris Event in April 2020 to go to, I would suggest the Art Fair at the Grand Palais, a contemporary art exhibition. Paintings and artworks come from more than 145 galleries from all over the world. It will take place from Apri 2 to April 5.

If you would like to spend Easter in Paris the dates you have to note down are the sacred ones. Good Friday is on April 10, Easter Sunday is on April 12 and Easter Monday on the 13th. April 13th is a French National Holiday.

Paris lovers might already know how this city is important for many Expos. You can live this special experience of going to the Paris Expo in April 2020.  It is an event about European home interiors and outdoors (gardens, etc). And, if you want, you can also take a look at the wine and gastronomy stands. Paris Expo will take place from April 30 to May 11 at Porte de Versailles.

Paris Event in May 2020

The first event in Paris in May 2020 takes place on the first day of the month. That is because is the Fete du Travail, Labour’s Day.

French people care a lot about this celebration. To join them, I suggest going to the big parade that starts from Bastille. Also, on May the 1st is a very important day for Parisians since it means the beginning of Spring too. It also means that you are in one of the best parts of the year to enjoy Paris!

After a few days, you can join another important France celebration. On May 8, you can go to the Arc de Triomphe to watch the Fete de la Victoire. Close to the Unknown Soldier’s Tomb, you can remember the surrounding of Nazis that happened on May 7, 1945. Celebrations usually start in the morning, around 10 am but more information is to be announced.

A great Paris Event in May 2020 to go is the Night of Museums! Known as Nuit des Musées, during that night you can visit many museums in Paris with special tours. The official date is still TBA.

Paris Events in June 2020

As in May, also June 1, 2020, in Paris is an official holiday. It is a public day of rest when you can fully experience the Parisian culture and relation with religion. That is because Whit Monday celebrates the day after Pentecost. Actually, it is also known as Pentecost Mondays and it is a Christian calendar moveable feast. This year, you can celebrate it in Paris on June the 1st.

There are two more moveable fests in June 2020. Actually, Mother’s Day 2002 in Paris is on June 7.

It is an exception of France and Sweden!

The same exception is for dads since Father’s Day 2020 in Paris is on June 21st. As I mentioned before, these all are occasions to see how French people behave in these celebrations. Anyway, if you are not in the mood, Paris always proposes many alternatives on what to do. Also, if you hate this type of celebration, you can opt for taking a trip outside the city!

On June 21, 2020, everyone will celebrate the Fete de la Musique, a celebration of music in all its forms. On Sunday 21st, there will be many events on the occasion of the 39* edition of this very-loved event.

Usually, you can find many concerts and events in every arrondissement. Even if by now all the information is still to be announced, there will surely be concerts for every kind of music. This is one of the best events to go to in Paris. All events and concerts will be free.

Paris Events in July 2020

If you visit Paris in July 2020, you can enjoy a cheerful atmosphere. In July there is the perfect match of Parisians that aren’t on holiday yet, travelers and tourists. They all mix together in the most welcoming events of the year.

As the first event in Paris to go in July 2020, I suggest going to Paris Plages, Parisian beaches along the Seine and in Parc de la Villette. What is special about Paris plages is that they are the stage of many events. Sports, Concerts, DJ sets, tango performances… They all happen at Paris plages! Also, this is one of the things you can do in Paris for free.

The most important event of the month is THE celebration of Parisians and French people: Bastille Day. It is always emotional joining the celebration for July 14. The parades begin in the very center of Paris, close to l’Avenue des Champs-Elysees.

Anyway, parties and celebrations of all sorts going on all day long!

One of the most unconventional events in Paris in July 2020 is “Electroland”. It is a special event in Disneyland Paris on 4th July 2020. What is happening is a replay of a successful event of 2018. Many famous DJs will perform in Disneyland and a great part of this amusement park in Paris becomes a dance-floor!

One more date to save is July 19. It’s the day of the final stage of the Tour de France 2020! If you are in France during those days, you can’t miss the chance of seeing something historical!

Events in Paris in August 2020

Events in Paris in August 2020 are mostly en Plein-air! This means that joining them you are going to enjoy Summer as a Parisian. Summer in Paris is not too warm every day!

As a very important event in Paris in August 2020, the Palais des Congrés de Paris hosts a Toastmaster International Convention. It is a huge event that includes ceremonies and networking events. What makes me even more enthusiastic about this Summer event in Paris is that it also includes speaker sessions and the World Championship of Public Speaking! It is very challenging for the competitors and I love seeing how people win challenges. It will be from the 5th to the 8th of August.

I also want to write about a great event in Paris in August 2020 where you can go to participate or as part of the public. it is the 10th International Choir and Orchestra Festival in Paris that will be from the 19th to the 23rd of August 2020. The festival course includes meetings with conductors and musicians and touristic leisure activities. You will meet orchestras and musicians from all over the world. What I love of this event is that you will never know what to expect, since everything varies on the number and type of choirs and orchestras who will take part. I think this is perfect for who is coming to Paris for a long stay in August 2020.

Between these two huge events, If you are brave enough and you are looking for something really big to participate, note down info about the London to Paris bike ride.
From the 12th of August to the 16th, you can submit your request to join this very long bike ride. It might be the experience of life. Also, you will contribute to raising funds for Christian Aid.

Summer in Paris is rich in events!

The end of August 2020 in Paris is for Athletes or sports fan. From the 25th to the 30th of August, Paris hosts the Athle Festival 2020. It includes sports competitions and events. Also, it is a program to track for its music and gastronomy happenings! The Athletics park will be on the Trocadero esplanade, a fantastic location that I always recommend visiting. Travelers and locals will both access for free!

Paris Plages are artificial beaches along the Seine or close to the Parc de la Villette. It is a unique place to visit because there you can actually see how locals live Sunsets.

People dance, practice sport, drink or just take walks around Paris Plages!

September 19th is the most quoted date for the Technoparade 2020 in Paris. It is a huge festival about techno, a melting pot of cultures and parties. Many events are in the open air!

If you are into music, Paris has always something for you. In September 2020, concerts in Paris will be a lot! Steven Wilson at the Zénith on Monday 21st September 2020. Plus, Kalash will perform at the AccorHotels Arena on the 23rd of September 2020.
