When you feel more romantic, or you love art, the mandatory stage close to Paris is Giverny. A dreamy place to go in Paris is Vaux-le-Vicomte, a castle where you can experience a very special dinner. Last but not least, Mont Saint-Michel is the destination for nature lovers and for landscapes hunters.

If you want to go from Paris to Versailles, you need to take a train. It is a local train, the Rer C. You can take it at Avenue du General de Gaulle 10. Then, you need to get off at Versailles-Chateau-Rive-Gauche station.

The easiest solution to buy the ticket you want is to buy it online or go to somebody who can do it. That is because you are sure to know how the money you will spend. Also, if you buy the ticket in advance, you won’t need to make any queues. You will skip the line and go straight to the Palace.

Buying this ticket, you will be sure to have priority access to the Versailles Palace. Plus, your ticket will be valid for both the palace and the garden of Versailles.

What I like about this type of ticket is that it includes a tour. It is in the English Language and it lasts 1 hour and a half. I think it is perfect because it is not too much! Plus, remember that after the guided tour you can visit everything again. You will have the advantage of knowing everything about the palace and still have the time to make your visit after that.

Vaux-le-Vicomte castle is definitely one of the most fascinating attractions of Paris neighborhoods!

Here I propose the best experience you can do there.

If you don’t take the chance to visit these attractions by booking some kind of experience, it is very difficult to go there independently. That is why I also like to select and recommend special tours or experiences to make in the most beautiful spots of Paris and its neighborhoods.

Vaux-le-Vicomte is one of the most famous castles in France. That is because it is the building that inspired the architect who started the design of Versailles! Louis Le Vau loved this beautiful architectural masterpiece. Anyway, you won’t go to Vaux-le-Vicomte to admire only this castle but to make an experience.

What you get by booking this experience is a tour at the carriage museum and a dinner in the enchanting rooms of the Vaux-le-Vicomte castle! You will have dinner in a 17-century castle!

In the castle, there is L’Ecureuil Restaurant where you will taste 3 French cuisine dishes. Before booking, pay attention to the menu they serve! It is a very romantic experience but it is good to go with family or friends too. The only requirement is the will to live a magic night at the castle.

The real plus is on Saturdays: there are a fireworks too!

Giverny is a good idea for who wants to explore places close to Paris.

Just think about taking a day to go outside the chaos of the big city to discover something really special. Giverny is not so far from Paris and it is known all over the world because is the town of Claude Monet. You can still admire some of the most beautiful gardens that inspired his art!

Find out how to go to Giverny by yourself and info about a recommended tour!

If you want to visit this town by yourself, you need to know that its distance is around 75 km, so 46 miles, from Paris. There are not so many buses or trains that go to Giverny, so I think you could rent a car if you don’t want to join a tour. What you will see, in any case, is the place who inspired the greatest impressionists.

If you want to spend a day in Giverny, this is the tour for you. Going in Giverny is not so simple, so booking a ticket and relax for the rest of the experience is the best. What I like the most, is that this tour includes transports.

Going in Giverny means explore the place that inspired artists like Claude Monet. You will see the beautiful corners of the world. Plus, you will also spend a day in nature too!

If you go to Giverny, you see the gardens of Monet and where he lived. Plus, you will also admire wheat fields and flowers. There is even a water garden! There, you can see the authentic colors of nature.

The tour lasts 5 hours and by booking it, you will skip the line and have the advantage of exploring Giverny with a guide. Audio guides are in Spanish, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanse, Portuguese and Russian.

Mont Saint-Michel

Mont Saint-Michel is one of the most fascinating places to be in Paris neighborhoods. It is also known as a wonder of the West. Plus, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. But what is Mont Saint-Michel? It is a small island located between Grouin and Champeaux, in Normandie.

It is such a special place because there are lots of legends about it. Just think that it is so-called because Archangel Michael appeared 3 times. That is why you can visit the church in its honor, built by bishop Aubert. In addition, when you go there, you can admire the show of the tides. Actually, Mont Saint Michel is not a small territory with just the abbey and the bay. There are interesting museums too.

Here I propose various ways to visit this unique place in Paris neighborhoods.
You can go to Mont Saint-Michel to Paris by bus or train. I strongly recommend choosing the train or an organized tour so you will be sure of not wasting your time.

When you are in Mont Saint-Michel, you can decide to join a one-day tour to be sure of visiting everything. For example, if you choose to book for this one day tour, you will:

  • go to Mont Saint-Michel and go back to Paris by bus (with AC);
  • an entrance ticket to the famous Mont Saint Michel abbey;
  • Audio guide. This can be in Spanish, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese.

The full tour lasts 14 hours. The departure meeting point is at 2 Rue des Pyramides in Paris. You can go there by metro. After that, you will enjoy your day in Mont Saint Michel without any other thoughts. Another thing that I like a lot about this 1-day tour solution is that you will have a pass that allows you to avoid queues.

Once you are in Mont Saint-Michel, you can also take part in a private tour. The tour I recommend it for families or a group of four people. By booking this private walking tour you will walk in the traditional streets of the islands with a local guide. Plus, you will visit the abbey too. What I like about this way of visiting this Mount is that you are with locals, so you take advantage of information that only they know. The local tour guides speak English, French or Spanish. If you choose this solution, you can meet the guide at the entrance of Mont Saint Michel.

Another one that I like is the private walking tour in the bay. It costs less money and it lasts 3 hours. By taking part in the private tour in the bay, you will have a local guide too. The ones that do this one speak English or French. By booking this tour or simply going on the bay of the mount, you will enjoy a stunning view barefoot! You will experience different kinds of sand. Just think that some of it is quicksand! Plus, you will discover a lot about the nature side of Mont Saint Michel.

If you are skeptic about private tours, just read the comments about these experiences! All the people who did these ones are still enthusiastic.

To visit Mont Saint-Michel abbey, I strongly recommend booking your ticket in advance. By doing this, you will be sure to go straight to the abbey, without any queue. Clicking here you will buy your ticket in advance and you will have a brochure in your language. Actually, the brochure is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese and Russian. Plus, if you change your mind, you can cancel it 24 hours before the day you have booked for.

If you would like to visit the other museums of Saint-Michel mount, see if the 1-day museum pass is what you need. Buying this you will have free access to the following museums:

  • Museum of the Sea and Ecology;
  • Historical Museum;
  • Archeoscope;
  • Β Logis Tiphanie.

Pay attention: if someone of your group is under 18, they enter for free even without the museum pass!

Saint-Denis Cathedral

The Saint-Denis Cathedral is one of the must-sees of Paris neighborhoods. That is because it is one of the most important gothic architecture masterpieces in France! It has been built in the 18th century but since it has been built on previous structures, you can admire many layers of different styles, architectures, and eras. It is very fascinating!

To go to Saint-Denis, I suggest taking the Train or the RER from the Gare du Nord. You can easily go to the Gare du Nord by metro since it is one of the most important stations in Paris! Even if Saint-Denis is not in Paris, it is very close to it and taking the RER or a local train, you are there in about 10 minutes!

The Saint-Denis church address is 1 rue de la LΓ¨gion d’Honneur, Saint-Denis, France. Its opening hours are from 10 am to 6.15 pm, every day. The Saint-Denis Cathedral ticket cost varies on what you want to do. If you just want to enter on your own, the ticket cost around 10 euros while private tours usually cost around 60 €. But, if you are under 26 and you are an EU citizen or you just live in Paris (and you can prove it), you can visit the Saint-Denis cathedral for free!
