Arrondissement 13, art and cultures

Arrondissement 13 is a very complex one. In this area live the immigrants of the city. So you can visit the biggest China-Town. The McDonalds ads are in Chinese too! If you love this culture, go there during the Chinese New Year!

In arrondissement 13 there are also many roads entirely occupied by Italians.

When you go there you can see lots of residential buildings. In addition, you can also visit the Bibliotheque Nationale of France (the National Library of France).

Another landmark is Butte aux Cailles!

Arrondissement 13, Street Art in Paris

One of the unique attractions of arrondissement 13 is street art. It is something very appreciated by who lives in Paris too.

In the 13th arrondissement, you can find lots of different murals. Art is always a mirror of its era. So, in this case, you will see Paris through a very special point of view. One of its street artists. You can go to this arrondissement and walk by yourself looking for street art or you can book a tour. Many people organize private tours to see immediately the artworks.

It is a peculiar route because in the murals you see all the different cultures mixed up.

Arrondissement 13, districts, parks and metro stations

Arrondissement 13  districts are Salpetriére, de la Gare, Maison-Blanche, and Croulebarbe. The most known roads are Avenue de l’Italie and Place de l’Italie. You can go to this arrondissement to walk in one of the parks that are there. For example, you can go to Parc de Choisy, Kellerman or Moulin de la Pointe.

If you want to go there by underground, note down the main stations! Gare d’Austerlitz, Bibliotheque François Mitterando, Campo Formio, Chevaleret, and Corvisart are important. Glacier, Les Gobelins, Maison Blanche, Nationale, and Olympiades are useful too. Place de l’Italie, Porte d’Italie, Porte d’Ivry, and Porte de Choisy refer to the ancient gates of the city. Quai de la Gare, Saint-Marcel and Tolbiac are in the thirteenth arrondissement too.
