Paris in April, weather, events and info

Here you can find info about it and what to do in Paris during April, one of the best months of Spring to visit the city.

While planning your Easter in Paris, remember that many attractions and museums of Paris are open, and they are free! This is also on Easter Monday. The museums that are categorized as Paris Musée (just like the Petit Palais and the Carnavalet) are closed during both days, instead.

April in Paris, events

paris in aprilIf you really are into design, note down that in May there is the Foire de Paris. It is the biggest event dedicated to the design of home products. Plus, there is also the chance to join exclusive workshops with very famous designers! I think it is the event to go mostly if you are in Paris for a very long time.

Another event of the month that I would really like to attend is the ancient and rare books fair. It is from the 11th to the 14th of April at the Grand Palais. It is the chance to visit this building where you can see paintings, sculptures, chinoiseries, design artworks, ect. In addition, if you visit the Grand Palais, you are very close to the Jardin de la Nouvelle and to the Petit Palais, one of my favorite free museums in Paris. To go there, in the arrondissement 8, you can take the metro or the bus.

Easter in Paris

paris in aprilWho comes to Paris in April, has the possibility to live the city during Easter. Even if you are not religious, it is very fascinating to attend the celebration of this festivity. Going to the mass in a French church is a cultural experience to do.

Back to Easter, if you would like to see a more lively Easter event, you can go to the Parc André Citroen and see all the kids during the egg hunting. It is very fun to watch!

April, the chocolate month

Do you remember the famous film Chocolat, with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp? I know, that story was set in a small village. But you can feel the same atmosphere once you are in Paris. In fact, you can find lots of places where you can taste some of the best chocolate you will ever eat!

Why I tell you so while talking about Paris in April? Because this is practically the month of the chocolate!

chocolateRegardless of Easter, I really recommend paying attention to the design of the Easter eggs! Another useful recommendation is to taste something in the most famous chocolates:

  • Alain Ducasse (rue de la Roquette, near the Eiffel Tower);
  • Jacques Genin, in the Marais district which I love so much.

If you are so into chocolate, go to the Chocolate Museum in Bonne Nouvelle boulevard!
