While planning your Easter in Paris, remember that many attarctions and museums of Paris are open, and they are free! This is also on Easter Monday. The museums that are categorized as Paris Musée (just like the Petit Palais and the Carnavalet) are closed during both days, instead.
Paris in April, what’s the weather like
During April, the weather in Paris is usually cold. In fact, on the beginning of the month, during morning the average of the temperature is of 60 F° in the morning and of 40 F° during evenings. The weather will be very changing from sunny to cloudy. Plus, it could be rainy during the following days: 12, 13, 22, 23, 24 and 25.
Fortunately the city is huge and you can find a lot to do during rainy days too by going in the attractions of Paris that are covered. You can enjoy lots of museums – read here the ones that are free – or the best tour in the most beautiful churches – read here the best for Notre-Dame de Paris.
When the weather is good, catch the moment to visit the parks of Paris! They are some of the most beautiful and parks in the world. Plus, if you are coming in Paris with kids, you can go to an amusement park and find out that there is the chance to learn something while you are there too. And, of course, if the weather is good it
would be amazing a day in Disneyland!
If you are any doubts about what put in your luggate, read the suitcase guide to Paris for every month of the year!
April in Paris, events
During April, the city offers lots of events to go. From the third to the seventh, I recommend going at the Tuileries Garden, where you can admire artworks and design products at the annual exhibition. If you want, you can reach the place by metro. It is every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If you really are into design, note down that from the 27th of April to the 8th of may, there is the Foire de Paris. It is the biggest event dedicated to design of home products. Plus, there is also the chance to join exclusive workshops with very famous designers! I think it is the event to go mostly if you are in Paris for a very long time.
Another event of the month that I would really like to attend is the ancient and rare books fair. It is from the 11th to the 14th of April at the Grand Palais. It is the chance to visit this building where you can see paintings, sculptures, chinoiseries, design artworks, ect. In addition, if you visit the Grand Palais, you are very close to the Jardin de la Nouvelle and to the Petit Palais, one of my favorite free museums in Paris. To go there, in the arrondissement 8, you can take the metro or the bus.
If you feel sporty, you can try yourself by going to the Paris Marathon that will take place on April 14 at 8.20. The starting point is Arc de Triomphe. It is the perfect event if you like crowded places too or you just enjoy seeing this kind of event.
Easter in Paris
Who comes in Paris in April in 2019, has the possibility to live the city during Easter. Even if you are not religious, it is very fascinating attend the celebration of this festivity. Going to the mass in a French church is a cultural experience to do.
Back to Easter, if you would like to see a more lively Easter event, you can go to the Parc André Citroen and see all the kids during the egg hunting. It is very funny to watch!
April, the chocolate month
Do you remember the famous film Chocolat, with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp? I know, that story was set in a small village. But you can feel the same atmosphere once you are in Paris. In fact, you can find lots of places where you can taste some of the best chocolate you will ever eat!
Why I tell you so while talking about Paris in April? Because this is pratically the month of the chocolate!
Regardless from Easter, I really recommend paying attention to the design of the Easter eggs! Another useful recommendation is to taste something in the most famous chocolateries:
- Alain Ducasse (rue de la Roquette, near the Eiffel Tower);
- Jacques Genin, in the Marais disctrict which I love so much.
If you are so into chocolate, go to the Chocolate Museum in Bonne Nouvelle boulevard!
