André Citroen Park is an amusement park for adults who love architecture, design, art. It is a masterpiece made park! Its beauty is so obvious that even if there is no entertainment for kids, you can go there with the whole family and enjoy it anyway.
André Citroen Park, why you can’t miss it!
The park is one of the first examples of urban revaluation. It used to be a space destined to the famous car company Citroen at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1992, the huge park reopened. Now it is a landmark in Paris where you can admire different gardens.
The project by Gilles Clement, Alain Provost, Patrick Berger, Jean-François Jodry and Jean-Paul Viguier includes three big thematic sections:
- The white garden, to walk and play. An amusement park section!
- The black garden, to admire the intense vegetation and the 64 water ornaments;
- A big square garden, to be sure that you are in the center of the park.
In André Citroen Park you can admire the Jardin the Metamorphoses. It is a futuristic garden with towers and catwalks! Plus, from there you can easily go to the Mediterranean Garden and the Orangerie. In both places, there are lots of rare and exotic plants.
Another specific garden you have to see is the Jardin en Mouvement (A Moving Garden). It is an area where the plants are not limited in their way of growing and every life cycle is respected in its nature.
What is unique about this park is that it is a green area, in a huge city, where you can still admire the cycle of life of the plants, without interference. Plus, you can also admire architecture and sculptures designed thinking about pure forms. That is why this park is so futuristic.
