Impressionism in Paris
If you are coming to Paris in Spring you will have a lot to do!
Being in Paris in June means enjoying the city at the beginning of Summer. The weather is fantastic, and there are lots of events to go to. Today I want to suggest going to one of the best temporary exhibitions in Paris, at the Musée de l’Orangerie.
As you may already know, Paris is one of the cities where you can admire artworks by Impressionists. It also is one of the places to be for art lovers. Here is something you shouldn’t miss if you are in Paris until July!
Aux sources des Nymphéas: le décor impressionniste at the Musée de l’Orangerie
Aux sources des Nymphéas: le décor impressioniste is the title of the exhibition held in Paris at the Musée de l’Orangerie until July 11, 2022. The central theme of this important exhibition is the rediscovery of the decorative art of the artist of Impressionism. It is a great occasion to know more about one of the less-known aspects of Impressionism.
Impressionism paintings are not comparable to the element of decoration, but there were artists of the movement who considered some of their works as real decorations.
The decorative element is something inconceivable in the context of an innovative style. A style that breaks with the canons of classical art, proposing a new way of painting.
This exhibitions includes artworks by Cassatt, Cézanne, Degas, Manet, Monet, Morisot, Pissarro, and Renoir. In addition to important paintings, there are also ceramics, and drawings where the decorative element is a very important element.
