Info to check before buying a museum pass
Are you planning your stay in Paris? Start collecting information about the main museums and attractions you wish to visit. And before buying a pass for museums, read more details you may have missed until now.
One of the best museum pass you can buy in Paris is the Paris Museum Pass. It is a special card that includes access to 60 public museums and monuments in Paris and Ile-de-France. Still, there is some information that you should consider before buying a museum pass.
Paris Museum Pass, info you didn’t know
The Eiffel Tower, the Montparnasse Tower, and the Grévin Museum are not included in the pass.
The skip-the-line access is not guaranteed in case of security checks, or where there are no reserved entrances for visitors that already have tickets.
The Paris Museum Pass includes entry to the Versailles apartments and the Trianons, but it does not include access to the gardens.
This pass is for individuals. If you are coming to Paris in a large group, you may prefer other discounts.
The Paris Museum Pass does not include access to temporary exhibitions, or guided tours.
The Paris Museum Pass allows you to visit all sites participating in the pass, but each visitor can only enter each site once.
Closures and holidays. Exceptional closures and free admissions (strikes, public holidays such as 1st May, 25th December, and 1st January, Heritage Days in September, etc…) which may occur at the various sites do not entail either the extension of the duration or the reimbursement.
Pay attention to the activation date of your pass. Passes are non-refundable! Keep in mind that museums and monuments are generally closed on Mondays or Tuesdays, January 1st, May 1st, and December 25th.
