Restaurants, bars, and cafés reopenings in Paris

Everything in Paris is gradually coming back to normality after the pandemic. Restaurants, cafèes, and bars reopened on June 2 in all departments.

On June 16, 2020, Emmanuel Macron declared that Paris is finally a green zone. To be correct, he said that the entire French territory is green, except for Mayotte and French Guiana. That means that reopenings are allowed, and that is for restaurants too.

While during the first reopening days restaurants were allowed to reopen their terraces only, from mid-June is possible going in the indoors of restaurants, bars, and cafés again.

Paris restaurants reopenings and new rules

If you want to go to the restaurants, cafès, and bars that are reopening in Paris you must respect new rules. That is because every place that is reopening must follow the strict health protocol to prevent the spreading of COVID-19.

If you want to be 100% sure to be in a place that is safe, just take a glance at the distance between the tables. There must be one meter between each table. Also, it is not possible to be in more than 10 people at the same table. Plus, facemasks are still mandatory for the staff and every person who needs to move around the room. One more rule to respect is the closing time. Restaurants, cafés, and bars must still close at 11 pm.

The situation is complex but Minister Anne Hidalgo said that Paris city hall wanted to give trust to the workers, warning that in case of breaking the rules the permission to reopen and to use temporary terraces would be immediately revoked.

Another useful information about bars and cafés reopening in Paris is that drinking standing up inside is still banned. But, you are allowed to go on terraces!
